Long-term Goal:
Tea garden, Forest based and other communities in disadvantage become drivers of their own development, enhance their wellbeing, where empowered women, educated children and youth act as stewards for a healthy environment.
Intermediate Outcomes: Education: Increased school enrolment and completion rates, particularly for girls. Raise in the number of Children continuing after Higher Secondary exam, joining college and other career-oriented courses. Women's Empowerment: Enhanced knowledge, skills, and leadership opportunities for women. Better access and utilisation of Govt schemes, services and entitlements, greater participation in decision-making processes, and improved well-being for women and their families. Sustainable Environment: Increased awareness about environmental issues, adoption of sustainable practices, and a healthier environment for the community and adoption of sustainable practices. Activities: Education: Provide Special classes for Class X and 12 students, Promote co-curricular activities and sports at the school and community level, Career counselling, environmental education and teacher training workshops. Women's Empowerment: Offer vocational training, financial and digital literacy workshops, awareness and linking of Govt schemes and entitlements available for the community. Sustainable Environment: Conduct environmental education workshops with youth, children, Government and other stakeholders, promote tree planting, and support eco-friendly livelihood alternatives, promotion of kitchen garden and waste management. Assumptions • Education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and environmental degradation. • Empowering women leads to improved decision-making at the household and community level. • Sustainable practices can improve livelihoods and conserve the environment. Monitoring and Evaluation Track progress and changes through regular data collection for school, career oriented and College enrolment, completion rates, and environmental knowledge. Measure women's participation in training programs and leadership roles. Monitor the adoption of sustainable practices and environmental health indicators. Conduct surveys and focus group discussions to assess the community's perception on the organization's impact. Sustainability Partner with government agencies, NGOs, and Tea Garden management to ensure long-term support for their initiatives. Empower community members to take ownership of their development and advocate for their betterment.
